The Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact is a compact flagship Android smartphone manufactured and marketed by Sony. The phone was announced to the public along with the Sony Xperia XZ1 at a press conference which was held at IFA 2017 on August 31, 2017.[2] It is the successor to the Sony Xperia X Compact and the first flagship-grade compact smartphone from Sony since the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact. It is known as the SO-02K in Japan, where it is exclusive to the NTT Docomo carrier.
Sony at IFA 2017
The Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact received mostly positive reception. Reviewers liked a return of a top-end processor and waterproof body compared to the Sony Xperia X Compact, as well as its display and battery life. However one criticism (along with the full size XZ1) was its outdated design and thick bezels, which TechnoBuffalo called "awkwardly stand out in 2017 as they would in 2012", and its high price was also criticized.[7][8][9] Its main competitor was the first-generation iPhone SE, the only other small sized smartphone at the time.[10]
Sony was perhaps inspired by the fact that a lot of shooters are just stringing a bunch of Sony Alpha A7 cameras together to shoot VR. That allows for the highest resolution possible, but it would be a lot easier with purpose-built camera. The RX0 will ship in October 2017 for $700.
The Sony Xperia XZ1 (Black, Moonlit Blue, Venus Pink and Warm Silver) and Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact (Black, Horizon Blue, Twilight Pink and White Silver) will roll out globally this month (September 2017).
Having heard the impressive Panasonic SC-GA10 at IFA 2017, I was intrigued to see what Sony had to bring to the table. The LF-S50G is a small Bluetooth speaker with Google Assistant built in. But has Sony done enough to convince the German crowd?
Upon first impressions, the Sony LF-S50G offers a good alternative to the Home and Echo devices. With Google Assistant built in, the Sony offers superior sound at a more premium price. The addition of a display is nice to see, and can be handy for those who like to see visuals. I still have to put the speaker through its paces, but from what I saw at IFA 2017, Sony has managed to produce a fantastic speaker. Look out for my detailed review later in the year.
Sony has unveiled its Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact, Xperia XA1 Plus smartphones at IFA 2017. These smartphones come with some noteworthy features such as MotionEye camera with 3D-image sensing, Hi-Res audio, HDR display. The Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact will be selling at a price of $699.99 (approx Rs. 45,000) and $599.99 (approx Rs 38,500) respectively in the US market. The pricing for the Xperia A1 Plus is yet to be announced.
MWC 2017 is over, and now we all know what was unveiled. Sony, Motorola, LG, Nokia, BlackBerry Huawei, and others all unveiled new smartphones ranging from the most basic to flagship-level, and this weekend's poll will have you pick among some of the most prominent contenders for a winner.
